Greyson Chance Dancing Crazy Tour Recap

Greyson Chance has officially concluded his first tour ever!

Back on January 24th Greyson kicked off the Dancing Crazy Tour along side fellow teen singer Miranda Cosgrove.  The two have trekked through twenty-one different U.S. cities (Montclair, NJ twice), selling out venues across the map!  With ticket sales in the millions and screaming fans in the billions (okay we might be exaggerating there), Greyson put on show after show with enthusiasm and a stage presence of a seasoned veteran.

After the last show (in Anaheim) Greyson had this to say:

Last night was the final day of the Dancing Crazy tour with Miranda Cosgrove. What an experience it has been. We ended the tour with a killer show in LA! I have learned so much from this tour – it’s been one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! I love being on the road, everyday is a new city, a new stage, and a new audience. The best part about it all was seeing all you fans! You guys made this tour so amazing. Everything you do, from writing a letter, drawing a poster, or even just buying a ticket and coming to the show, you guys mean the world to me. I am so blessed to have all of you and I can’t wait to take over the world with you(: I want to thank Miranda Cosgrove for everything she has done for me and last of all I thank you guys! I love you all so much, thanks for making this tour incredible.

Greyson Chance Video Chat with KIIS FM

Greyson Chance stopped by KIIS FM, one of Los Angeles’ biggest radio stations just before his last performance on the Dancing Crazy Tour.

Carly from KIIS FM kicked the interview off by talking with Greyson about his experiences on The Dancing Crazy Tour.  Greyson said that going on tour with Miranda Cosgrove has been really fun and he enjoys watching the fans rocking out during the show.

Next Greyson talked about returning to The Ellen DeGeneres show and how he had the opportunity to hang out with Justin Bieber again back stage.  Greyson was rather impressed with JB’s pool skills after watching him destroy his bass player.

Fans from all over tuned in to the live video chat and sent in questions via Twitter for Greyson.

Q: Do you ever get tired of people asking you to marry them?
Greyson: Of course not! Not to mention it’s illegal! :)

Q: Do you think one day you could marry a fan?
Greyson: I would marry all my fans if I could!

Q: How do you feel about your life changing so fast? Do you ever wish you were normal again?

Greyson Chance Radio Interview from KissFM with Johnyjay and Rich

Greyson Chance stopped by the Kiss FM studio to chat live on air with Johnjay and Rich!

Johnjay and Rich dug into Greyson’s past at the start of the on air interview; Greyson talked about how he was discovered, Ellen DeGeneres and his famous YouTube Paparazzi performance.  The radio personalities were stunned at the number of views (nearly 38 million now) on his YouTube video and couldn’t believe that he is only thirteen-years-old.

Greyson explained the meaning behind his hit single, Waiting Outside The Lines.  Greyson explains that it’s a very relatable song; meaning that it can mean something to one person and something totally different to someone else.  For Greyson, he was in Los Angeles for months recording his single and was lonely at times with all his friends back home.  The experience at first was tough so getting through that time and transitioning to an artist is what it’s all about for him.

Greyson Chance Returns to The Ellen Show, Performs Waiting Outside The Lines

Greyson Chance made is long awaited return to The Ellen DeGeneres show today; he chatted with Ellen, performed his single Waiting Outside The Lines and even took some time to hang out with his fans!

Greyson has been on the road for about a month on the Dancing Crazy Tour with Miranda Cosgrove.  He’s been traveling throughout the United States selling out venues and hitting the stage nightly living the rock star life.  With the tour almost over he headed back to Los Angeles today to say hello to the person who discovered him and kicked started his music career, Ellen DeGeneres.  The dynamic duo talked about the tour, Greyson’s upcoming album and much more!

The chat with Greyson and Ellen started off with the thirteen-year-old singer talking about the Dancing Crazy Tour.  Greyson said that the tour has been incredible, says he’s having a blast and really enjoys seeing the fans jumping around in the audience and getting into it.  One of the most insightful things Greyson commented on was the fact that he’s learning so much by being out on the road.  He’s taking in everything he possibly can and learning from his touring partner, Miranda as well as his band and anyone else he can!

Ellen brought up the fact that Greyson’s single, Waiting Outside The Lines has been used on the hit television show, ‘The Good Wife’.  Greyson talked about how he didn’t even know that his single was going to be used and was surprised by it one night on his tour bus.  If you missed it, checkout our article on The Good Wife commercial.

The chat wrapped up with Ellen congratulating Greyson and telling him how proud she is of all that he’s accomplished.  It was then that Greyson took a seat at the grand piano and performed his hit single Waiting Outside The Lines along with his band as a pack of fans looked on, singing right along!

Greyson Chance Interview With BSC Kids

On Sunday BSC Kids caught up with Greyson Chance and interviewed him on tour!

BSC Kids is a site for all things kids and entertainment: film, television, books, music, gaming, comics, toys and kid-celebrity news, commentary, interviews, recaps and special features, including guest spots and round-table discussions.  If you haven’t heard of them yet, you will… their network reaches over 1 million viewers every month!

Original Interview

BSC: You got your start by someone posting a video of you singing Lady Gaga’s song “Papparazzi” at a music festival. How does it feel that somebody posted a video up of you before you became famous?
Greyson: I pushed it to be all by myself. I pushed it, nobody else did. Yeah, it feels great, and you know I love “Papparazzi.” And I was just very lucky and blessed that Ellen found it.

BSC: Your brother sent her the link, didn’t he?
Greyson: Well, my brother sent her the link, but they contacted my mom, actually first.

BSC: Okay. And from there, she signed you, correct?
Greyson: Yeah, I’m signed to Ellen’s label eleveneleven, and also I’m signed to Maverick and Geffen Records, as well.

BSC: You released your first single in October. Do have plans for an album coming out or a tour? What are your plans for your music career this year?
Greyson: Well, I’m on tour right now. I’m on tour for Miranda Cosgrove. We’re in Houston right now, actually, and the tour is winding up. We have 3 more shows after tonight. And yeah, the record is going to come out this year, and hopefully I’ll be going on another tour and putting out another single and just keep on building and building.

BSC: Do you hope to have headlining tour of your own soon?
Greyson: Maybe. We’re gonna have to see. (Laughs a little.)

BSC: You also won an award earlier this year, I believe. The People’s Choice Award?
Greyson: I was nominated. I didn’t win.

BSC: Okay, cause it said on Wikipedia you won.
Greyson: Oh, no I didn’t win.

BSC: That’s Wikipedia for you. But how did it feel to be nominated on an award so early in your career?
Greyson: Well, it feels great, you know, and I felt honored to be nominated. It was so great, you know, and I thank my fans for getting me there and for voting. Even though we didn’t win, we still got nominated, so it was very incredible.

BSC: Do you hope one day to get nominated for a Grammy Award?
Greyson: Of course. That’s one of my biggest dreams.

BSC: Yeah, I think that is probably a big dream for any singer or celebrity at this point.
Greyson: Exactly!

BSC: You recenty met Jusin Beiber and Jaden Smith. Um, how did it feel to meet them and to meet a fellow YouTube star who got his start on YouTube?
Greyson: Well, Justin is an incredibly, really nice guy, and so it was great to meet him and Jaden. Yeah, it was really cool, and they’re both very nice guys.

BSC: Do you like being compared to Justin?
Greyson: Yeah, you know, we’re often compared, but my music is more pop-rock thing, so its different.

BSC: Do you think that YouTube has changed the music industry forever by allowing people to be get their start by posting videos? How do you feel about it?
Greyson: Well, I think that YouTube has definitely changed the way artists are discovered now. It’s a great thing, I think, you know, having young artists and people full of talent being discovered by YouTube. It’s a great way to be discovered. You can find a lot of talent on YouTube.

BSC: You’ve often said that you would like to work with Lady Gaga before, but who else would like to work with in the future?
Greyson: Well, I’m bag fans of lots of artists. I love Christina Aguilera, I love Gaga, of course, I love Hayley Williams, so I don’t know, maybe I’ll throw a duet in the mix here pretty soon.

BSC: Any advice to young future stars who want to break out into the music industry?
Greyson: Young celebrities or just young people?

BSC: Young people who want to break out into the music industry.
Greyson: Oh, okay. Well, you know, you have to just keep following your dreams, and let nobody bring you down because, you know, when I was a kid I said I wanted to be a singer, I wanted to be signed and go on tour. And everyone would tell me, “Oh you’re never going to make it, you’re from Oklahoma, you’re not gonna get there.” These kids have huge dreams, you just gotta keep on.

BSC: Okay! Do you have any last words or thoughts for your fans who will read the interview?
Greyson: Well, you know, I love my fans so much, they mean the world to me. They’re the reason why I’m here. Just thank you for all the love and support.

Greyson Chance Returns to The Ellen Show Wednesday

Greyson Chance will return to The Ellen DeGeneres show this Wednesday, February 23rd.

A homecoming of sorts, Greyson is going back to where it all started, to the person who gave Greyson his “chance”… he’s going back to Ellen!

It’s been a while since Greyson has actually physically appeared on The Ellen Show (he’s done a few remote video chats) so this is pretty exciting.  With only two more shows to go on the Dancing Crazy Tour the next big event for Greyson will undoubtedly be the release of his debut album. We know that Greyson plans to perform his single Waiting Outside The Lines on the show Wednesday and we can only hope we’ll find out a release date for his album too!

Greyson Chance Live Webcast with XL 106.7

Greyson Chance stopped by XL 106.7 fm on February 17th, before his Hard Rock Live performance in Orlando.

XL 106.7 opened up their awesome studio to both Greyson and his touring partner, Miranda Cosgrove.  Greyson started things off by playing his hit single, Waiting Outside The Lines on his Yamaha Motif XS8 keyboard for an intimate crowd of fans gathered in the studio.

The floor was then opened up for questions from those in attendance.

Some questions asked included:

Does Greyson manage his own twitter account?
Does Greyson ever get nervous performing?
What kind of pets does Greyson have?
How does Greyson handle all the fame and attention at such a young age?
How did Greyson learn to play the piano?

The coolest part about the entire thing was that it was broadcast LIVE online and fans from all over the world were able to dime in and ask Greyson questions.  When we say broadcast all over the world, we mean it!  We saw saw fans from both Spain and France!  Some of the questions asked of Greyson from the chat room included:

When will Greyson be performing oversees?
Who is Greyson’s favorite hero and/or idol?
Does Greyson have a girlfriend?
And so many more!!!

Greyson Chance Interview and Performance at WESH in Orlando, Florida

Greyson Chance stopped by WESH, Orlando’s premiere news station before his show at the Hard Rock on February 17th.

Sunny Orlando, Florida was Greyson’s latest stop on the Dancing Crazy Tour with Miranda Cosgrove.  While in town the thirteen-year-old singer had quite a busy schedule.  Prior to his performance at the Hard Rock Live, Greyson swung by WESH news station for an interview and mini performance.

Greyson spoke with Aixa Diaz about Ellen DeGeneres, his music career and school.  He then took a seat at his signature grand piano and played his hit single, Waiting Outside The Lines.

Greyson Chance Interview on Wild 104.9 HD

Greyson Chance called in to Oklahoma’s Wild 104.9HD last week and talked on air with hosts, Heather and Joey.

Live directly from his hotel room in Brooklyn, New York, Greyson was “chilling” before his next performance but took some time out to talk about the Dancing Crazy Tour, his soon to be released album and an upcoming benefit show which is near and dear to his heart.

During the radio broadcast Greyson told us that the story behind his upcoming album is “very real” and is shaping up to be the record that he’s always envisioned.

Greyson expressed that he’s very excited for his upcoming shows at Santa Fe High School.  All proceeds from these shows benefit the Children’s Miracle Network.  “We’re going to raise a pretty good amount of money, it’s going to be great” Greyson commented.

When Greyson was asked how touring with Miranda Cosgrove was going, he said: “It’s been going really, really well and I’m having a blast!” Touring has been a little crazy according to Greyson but the whole experience has been “incredible”.

Greyson Chance Performs Waiting Outside The Lines on Good Day New York

Greyson Chance stopped by the Good Day New York morning news show just after the crack of dawn this A.M., January 14th, 2011.

Greyson performed his single, Waiting Outside The Lines on his signature white and black inverted key piano. 

Prior to giving another awesome performance Greyson said that he’s having a blast with everything, from making music in the studio to touring with Miranda Cosgrove.  While Greyson says that he would have pursued a music career either way, he admits that the viral Paparazzi YouTube video was definitely a kick start! 

One of the hosts mentioned how Greyson has a similar haircut to Justin Bieber but we think Greyson’s is more rockin! :)
