Greyson Chance debuted a new song off his upcoming album at BlogHer ’10 and we have a brand new video from the performance thanks to extraordinarymommy.
On August 7th we broke the news to you first that Greyson Chance performed at BlogHer ’10, a conference of female bloggers which took place August 6th and 7th in New York. We’ve already posted one performance video from BloherHer featuring Greyson’s new song and we just received a second one.
What’s different about this video is that we get to hear Greyson talk about the song a little bit before he actually performs it. Greyson said that he was inspired to write this song as a result of something he saw on television one night.
Greyson was flipping through the channels one evening when he came across a commercial/infomercial for child abuse. (You know, the ones that ask for donations to help children in need.) Greyson explains that it was a “depressing” commercial which got his creative juices flowing. Greyson’s sister helped him write the song which is about a boy who was abused as a child but breaks free and doesn’t let his past affect him as he moved forward.
If you listen carefully to the words and really embrace the song, you’ll get chills listening to it.
