Greyson Chance stopped by The Ellen Show to see his mentor (Ellen DeGeneres) but gave the audiance a special treat when he performed “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” during one of the commerical breaks. As Ellen DeGeneres said herself, why should they have all the fun? So here is the video of Greyson performing!

Greyson Chance was recently interviewed by Erika Taylor from “Live! Starring You”.
During their waterfront chat, Greyson said that he never knew his Paparazzi YouTube video would become so popular because he never intended for so many people to see it. Greyson recalled the day he was signed by Ellen DeGeneres to a record deal, he said that it was a crazy process but he is still so excited for it all.
“Is Greyson missing out on his childhood?” While Greyson acknowledges that he’s definitelys missing out on some things, it’s worth it because he’s living out his dream. Greyson added that he still has friends at home but sometimes its hard making new friends, not knowing their intentions.
One of Greyson’s favorite things to do is touring. Greyson said that he’s picked up things from other artists he’s worked with (Miranda Cosgrove & Cody Simpson specifically) on tour and he loves seeing his fans!

What did you do to kill time while on tour and not performing?
We had a lot of fun. The last show we threw a lot of pranks on each other, silly string, and just had a lot of fun with everybody.
Favorite city on tour?
It had to be New York. I always love going to New York. I saw a lot of familiar faces from last time. It was an amazing show.
Do you find a lot of people automatically associating your new single “Unfriend You” with Facebook?
It’s that breakup song. That girl who was a really big jerk to you and did not treat you so well. What’s so great about the record is I’m actually about ready to shoot the video and though it’s a breakup song, it always ties back to social media. I think (social media) is a very important aspect, especially in today’s world.
Greyson, you were discovered on YouTube. Are you still impressed today with how powerful that site can be, especially for undiscovered musicians?
Yeah, I never expected any of this when I posted “Paparazzi” on YouTube. It’s been such an amazing journey this past year.
Will fans be surprised to hear anything with the debut album that they have not heard from you yet?
They’re going to be surprised about the whole record, because everybody thinks I’m going to go down that certain pop road, but it’s definitely not a big pop record. It’s a pop/rock record. The whole album is really about heartbreak. It’s pretty edgy.
Did you feel a lot of pressure because you have received so much attention prior to the debut album?
There is a pressure, but I think the pressure is a great thing. I love having something that can fill me up. I’m not too nervous.
Top 4 Musical Influences?
For this record I was really inspired by Journey. I love Journey, Lady Gaga, David Bowie and Coldplay.

During his post performance interview Greyson made a surprise announcement. Greyson will release his debut album “Hold on ‘Til the Night’ August 2nd, 2011! Just in time to load up your iPod with some new music for back to school!
Greyson Chance has come a long way since posting to YouTube, his performance of Paparazzi at the Edmond Music Festival. Today, April 28th, 2011 marks the one-year anniversary of the video debuting and the statement “a lot can happen in one year” sums things up pretty well.
Greyson’s performance of Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi went viral shortly after he posted it to YouTube one year ago today. Once TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres to get a glimpse of the twelve-year-old superstar she invited him onto her show. Greyson made two appearances on Ellen’s nationally televised show which led to a record deal with ElevenEleven and Mavrick/Geffen Records.
In the year since Greyson has met his idol Lady Gaga, been featured by national media outlets around the world, walked the red carpets of some of the most prestigious events in the music industry, released his first EP, gone on tour with Miranda Cosgrove, performed for (and met) President Barack Obama and is in the mists of headlining a tour with Cody Simpson; oh, and he’s about to release his debut album! All in one year!
Greyson has a loyal fan following, evident with over a half-MILLION followers on Twitter and over 39 million views of his Paparazzi video.
Through it all Greyson has managed to keep his management team in check, doing things his way!

Sitting on a couch backstage (we believe at the Ellen Show) in the green room Greyson talked about everything from school, to his discovery, Ellen DeGeneres and the Waiting4U Tour.
Greyson said that if he hadn’t been discovered he would probably be in school, causing trouble in one way or another! (LOL!) Everything happened so fast for Greyson when he was discovered by Ellen DeGeneres, he talked about this and his famous Paparazzi video which has racked up over 38 million views!

Natalie: Can you tell us about yourself?
Greyson: “Well I’m thirteen years old, my name is Greyson, I’m an artist, I’m a musician, I’m signed to Ellen’s first record label “ElevenEleven” and I’m making my first album!”

How did Greyson start out in music?
Greyson said that he started out by singing at a young age, mimicing what he heard on the radio. He started playing the piano which led to his discovery on YouTube.
Did Greyson ever think about how much his life would change when he posted his first video?
Greyson posted the video (his now famous YouTube “Paparazzi” video) initially to just show his friends and family. After Ellen DeGeneres saw it he was invited to perform on her show which led to his eventual record deal!
What was Greyson’s reaction when he found out he was going to be on The Ellen Show?
Greyson was jumping off the walls, so excited for the opportunity!
Is there a moment so far that Greyson looks back on and thinks “WOW” can’t believe that happened?
Greyson said that his album is progressing so well and he’s better understanding the process. The “wow” factor is seeing the final product at the end.
Does Greyson write his own music?
Most of the songs on his album Greyson wrote himself but not all of them.
Can Greyson tell us about his single, Waiting Outside The Lines?
It’s about getting over something that’s been bothering you or haunting you.
Is it harder for Greyson to write the music or the lyrics?
It depends on the song… sometimes the music, sometimes the lyrics.
What are some of Greyson’s goals he’d like to achieve career wise?
Greyson wants to please his fans! He also would love to win a Grammy!

Greyson Chance took the stage with Miranda Cosgrove for a surprise appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today.
Last night Greyson Tweeted, “On my way to Ellen, I am gonna be Dancing Crazy!” We did a little research and found out that Miranda Cosgrove was scheduled to perform her hit single “Dancing Crazy” on an episode of The Ellen Show which would air today. Based on Greyson’s latest Tweet we had a hutch that he would be performing with her (as he did on the Dancing Crazy Tour) so we set our DVR’s and waited.
Miranda began her performance with her band and backup singers but no Greyson! (Maybe we were wrong?) Nahh! During the second half of the song Miranda said “Give it up for Greyson Chance!” and bam! There he was! Greyson took the stage, sang along with Miranda and danced crazy! Greyson was energetic and really got into the song!
During the interview with Ellen DeGeneres afterwards, Miranda talked about her experience with Greyson on tour. Miranda said that one night Greyson pranked her tour bus along with his band which was pretty funny but otherwise he always behaved himself and was a “perfect gentleman”.

Greyson Chance made is long awaited return to The Ellen DeGeneres show today; he chatted with Ellen, performed his single Waiting Outside The Lines and even took some time to hang out with his fans!
Greyson has been on the road for about a month on the Dancing Crazy Tour with Miranda Cosgrove. He’s been traveling throughout the United States selling out venues and hitting the stage nightly living the rock star life. With the tour almost over he headed back to Los Angeles today to say hello to the person who discovered him and kicked started his music career, Ellen DeGeneres. The dynamic duo talked about the tour, Greyson’s upcoming album and much more!
The chat with Greyson and Ellen started off with the thirteen-year-old singer talking about the Dancing Crazy Tour. Greyson said that the tour has been incredible, says he’s having a blast and really enjoys seeing the fans jumping around in the audience and getting into it. One of the most insightful things Greyson commented on was the fact that he’s learning so much by being out on the road. He’s taking in everything he possibly can and learning from his touring partner, Miranda as well as his band and anyone else he can!
Ellen brought up the fact that Greyson’s single, Waiting Outside The Lines has been used on the hit television show, ‘The Good Wife’. Greyson talked about how he didn’t even know that his single was going to be used and was surprised by it one night on his tour bus. The chat wrapped up with Ellen congratulating Greyson and telling him how proud she is of all that he’s accomplished. It was then that Greyson took a seat at the grand piano and performed his hit single Waiting Outside The Lines along with his band as a pack of fans looked on, singing right along!
