Where In the World are Greyson Chance Fans?

Greyson Chance has developed quite the fan following in just a couple years.  The fourteen-year-old singer is selling out venues across the world and has racked up over 1 million followers on his Twitter account, not to mention the tens of millions of views on his various YouTube videos.

Last year we researched what countries have the largest fan base of Greyson Chance Fans.  We put together a list of the top ones based on the visitor site statistics of Greyson’s biggest fan site, Greyson Chance Web.

Well, we thought it was time to update that list for 2011!  Again, while these statistics are not necessarily a definitive or scientific method of saying which countries have the largest Greyson Chance fan base, it certainly gives us a good idea of where in the world people are searching for and supporting him. (And it’s fun!)

Greyson Chance Fans Interview Greyson

Greyson Chance Fans took to Twitter this week to interview Greyson!

Twitter is one of Greyson’s favorite ways to connect with his fans outside of live events, so it was too much of a surprise when he used it as a medium to answer questions live from fans.  The “twitterview” works like this:  Fans “tweeted” their questions to Greyson using a special hash tag (#greysonaugust2).  Greyson then sorted through the questions and picked a handful to answer by tweeting his response.

Much of the questions were geared around Greyson’s debut album, Hold On ‘Til The Night which is set to be released on August 2nd.  We’ve gone through and compiled all the questions and answers, you can find the complete interview below!

ZarahChance: What is your favorite song on Hold On ‘Til The Night and why?
Greyson Chance: My favorite song from HOTTN would probably be, Cheyenne. It is a little more soulful and Cheyenne has an awesome chorus.

AlyssaChance143: Where did you get most of the inspiration for Hold On ‘Til The Night from?
Greyson: Most of the inspiration comes from heartbreak, happiness sometimes anger, and love from all of my fans! My fans inspire me!

GreysonsDarling: Did your siblings take part in the making?
Greyson: They were never with me in the studio, but I was inspired when I missed them and missed home. I love them!

Jac_simpsonizer: Will you be singing your new songs at your shows this summer?
Greyson: I will be doing some new songs from the album on the tour. I am so excited for people to hear them!

HannahChance97:  On a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you love your fans?
Greyson: On a scale from 1-10? 1000000000000000000000000! As many zeros I can put! Love you all so much.

cali_gurl_swag: What’s your favorite part about meeting fans?
Greyson: I love seeing how they are inspired by the music I create! It makes it so much more meaningful. I also love their gifts!

JonasSimpsonn: What is your friendship like with Cody Simpson?
Greyson: Cody is a great friend! I had so much fun touring with him. We are always texting each other. He is a great guy!

JBieberAJoy: What ages is Hold On ‘Til The Night geared towards?
Greyson: The album is for all ages! It is very universal. Any age could understand and like it!

WorldofSimpson:  What was it like working with Ariana Grande in the Unfriend You Music Video?
Greyson: Doing the video with Ariana was great! She is so sweet. We had a lot of fun on set!

Haley4414: What song are you most excited for your fans to hear?
Greyson: I am excited for them to hear the title song. It took a lot for me to write it, and I hope it helps them gain confidence!

Greyson Chance on MakeMyMillenium

Greyson Chance once again captures the international spotlight, this time appearing in a promo video for MakeMyMillenium.  For those unfamiliar with the site, MakeMyMillenium is dedicated to making music a reality and not just a dream that’s reached by a few lucky people.

The author behind MMM, Marie Argence started the site to talk about bands and music and aims to provide exclusive content to readers.  Marie tells us that she started out in France and then in the US, now dedicating her life to the music cause internationally.  She jokingly says that one day music and artist will control the world!  One things for sure, she has great taste in music!

This isn’t the first time Greyson has captured the hearts of fans internationally either.  Late last month Greyson appeared in Germany’s “Bravo” Magazine. Greyson himself even took time to thank a Brazilian fan recently for all her support.  If you recall in a previous post we listed the top 10 most popular countries where Greyson Chance fans appear to be, France rounded out the top 10!

Marie’s support of Greyson through MakeMyMillenium is another prime example of Greyson’s growing fan base.  Together we (the Greyson Nation) can show the world what Greyson is all about!  Till’ next time, Rock on!

Greyson Chance Captures International Spotlight in Germany’s Bravo Magazine

Greyson Chance has come a long way since performing on stage at the Edmond music festival only a short time ago.  The small town teen has gone from virtually unknown to hanging in the big leagues with some of the music industry’s most notable stars like Lady Gaga.  Since capturing the United States media spotlight, Greyson has quickly become a household name in other parts of the world as well.

On August 5th when we ran a statistics check on Greyson’s #1 Fan Site, we told you that Germany was around the #7 most popular country for Greyson Chance Fans.  Recently we came across an article in Germany’s Bravo magazine featuring Greyson Chance and pop star Cody Simpson side-by-side.

Unfortunately nobody on the Greyson Chance Fan Site development team spoke German, so we reached out to one of our community members, Arjin who does.  Arjin is a huge Greyson Chance fan and graciously sent us a synopsis of the article.

The article is a two-page spread with huge photos of Greyson Chance and Cody Simpson standing next to each other.  The article talks about Greyson and Cody’s “Friendship Pact against Justin Bieber”.  While we presume the magazine was only injecting a bit of humor here, (Greyson and Cody have publicly said several times that they respect Justin and all that he’s accomplished), they both are on the same path as they work diligently to achieve their music goals.

Reading on the article jokes about Greyson and Cody’s goal to conquer the hearts of girls.  BravoMag still credits Justin Bieber with the “Greatest Girls Swarm in the World” award.  Do you agree with that?  How long will Justin hold this award?

By the day Greyson is popping up in magazines and other forms of print media all over the world.  With this international media blitz surrounding Greyson, his popularity and fan base is growing by the day.  Just earlier this week we highlighted one of Brazil’s biggest Greyson Chance fans.

Once Greyson’s debut album drops this upcoming holiday season, those that have been living under a rock the past few months will finally see what this teen singing sensation we call Greyson Chance is all about.  If you think he’s been all over the media now, just wait!

Greyson Chance Thanks a Dedicated Fan

A Greyson Chance super fan got the surprise of a lifetime today when she received a huge shout out and thank you from Greyson himself via Twitter. 

Back on June 30th, Gabby (YouTube: GabbyChance) posted an awesome fan video where she talked about her obsession with her favorite singer, Greyson Chance.  After we watched the video it was pretty apparent how inspired Gabby has been by Greyson. 

In the five minute long fan video Gabby talks about how Greyson has inspired her to continue playing the piano and attempts to recruit new enchancers (Enchancer:  A Greyson Chance Fan!)  

Throughout the video Gabby lists 10 reasons she loves Greyson: 

  1. He’s so down to earth and mature!
  2. I love his smile!
  3. He plays the piano, like me! 
  4. He sings as well.
  5. He sings and plays with his soul!  I can feel it.
  6. Greyson is smart, fun and inspirational!
  7. He’s friendly, funny, sweet and kind.
  8. He is so cute!
  9. He’s really handsome too!
  10. He also plays soccer!

If you recall, several weeks ago we talked about how Greyson Chance fans come from all over and listed Brazil as the #6 country with the most Greyson fans.  Well Gabby represents one of those Brazilian fans!  I imagine that since Gabby posted her video to recruit more enchancers, Brazil has moved up on the list… we’ll check up on that! 

Today Greyson Chance came across Gabby’s video while checking YouTube and was so impressed that he posted it to his Twitter account (@GreysonChance) and shot out a Tweet with the link to his 211,000+ followers.  In response to the video Greyson told us: 

This video is awesome!  It is great to know that I have “enchancers” out there supporting me!  I put a lot of emotion into my music and to know that people see that it makes me feel great!  Thank you Gabby!

Sometimes people ask me how I can love Greyson if I don’t even know him 

I actually don’t know… I can’t explain exactly how I feel when I think about Greyson… 

Well, I know part of the reason of why I love Greyson: He’s so down to earth and mature! I love his smile! He plays the piano, like me! He sings as well. If I could, I’d spend the day here talking about Greyson… All I can say for now is that he is amazingly talented and really special!  I’m sure he’ll stay humble, because he’s awesome xD. 

I don’t mind if people will laugh at me because of my obsession with Greyson, I love him and I want to say it out loud!  And I’m not alone!  If you haven’t fallen in love with Greyson yet… Than WOW. 

I’ve been playing the piano since February 2007, and he inspired me a lot!  I’m learning to play Broken Hearts this FRIDAY!!  Well, I guess Greyson will never see this but.. Whatever!  All I want is to support him! 

Well, thank you so much Greyson!  I love you!  I just wanted you to know how awesome and inspirational you are!

A big Happy Birthday goes out to Greyson Chance!

Today, August 16th, 2010 Greyson Chance turns 13 years old… he’s officialy a teenager!

Greyson Chance Fans worldwide have come together to wish Greyson a very happy birthday.  Over the past few weeks fans have been submitting videos, pictures, artwork, poems and letters dedicated to Greyson’s special day.  We’ve compiled all of them into one video for Greyson’s birthday!

The original idea for this video came from TheLeilaAmber.  Leila was making a video but after some communication confusion we ended up making one too, so there are two awesome videos now which you can find below!

Message to Greyson:  We hope you like the videos, lots of hard work has gone into make them!  We would like to wish you a Happy Birthday on behalf of all your fans worlwide!

Greyson Chance Visits with Lady Gaga Again!

Yesterday we broke the news to you that Greyson Chance rocked out to Lady Gaga at her concert in Los Angeles, California.

As we said, this was Greyson’s second time attending his idol’s concert.  During the first performance in Oklahoma City, Greyson got to go backstage and meet with Gaga one on one.  We had a feeling Greyson went backstage again to hang out with his new friend and we were right on!  Moments ago Greyson sent us a photo with the dynamic duo together again!  Meeting someone you idolize so much once is quite the experience, but twice! Wow Greyson, awesome!

We know that this isn’t the last time Greyson and Lady Gaga will be seen together.  Greyson Chance Fans are still hoping for the possibility of a collaboration one day and we definitely see this as a viable and likely possibility.

In a Tweet from Greyson early this afternoon he said, “Saw @ladygaga again! She was super kind and put on an amazing show! I had a great time!”

America’s Got Talent YouTube Special Inspired by Greyson Chance

It looks like Greyson Chance inspired one of the most popular TV shows on television today, “America’s Got Talent” to host a YouTube contest!

That’s right, apparently America’s Got Talent was so inspired by Greyson Chance’s (and Justin Bieber’s) online rise to fame, that they decided to arrange a competition on YouTube where thousands of aspiring singers posted videos.  Out of the thousands of submissions sent in, twelve were selected to audition for the popular TV show.   The plan is, of the twelve semi finalists, four of them will make the final twenty-four selected for the show.

Some of the shows organizers were originally opposed to the YouTube special idea and some still feel that way apparently.   The judges quickly found out that not everyone has what it takes to make it!  On the flip side, they did find a hand full of acts worth checking out that they think could have potential to be on Greyson’s level!

Be sure to check out these acts in the upcoming season of America’s Got Talent.

It’s pretty evident that the power of YouTube and the Internet has made the music industry take a step back and rethink how they scout out new talent.  Greyson Chance has been a prime example of this and while we expect he will not be the last star discovered online,  we do believe he’ll be the best!
