Greyson Chance Sunshine and City Lights Music Video

Greyson Chance has just released the new music video for his single Sunshine and City Lights.

The song, Sunshine and City Lights is about falling in love with your youth and staying young.  When Greyson was writing the song, he was inspired by what he does with his friends back home and even being mischievous sometimes.

The video is about two Long Island kids sneaking out into the big city at night, having fun and being themselves.  We think it’s perfect.  What do you think?

Greyson Chance “More Than the Next Justin Bieber” Says Showbiz

For anyone that has followed Greyson Chance for any period of time, you know that in the past he was often dubbed “The Next Justin Bieber”.  We’ve always disagreed with that statement personally because we feel he is different than the Biebs in so many ways.  While both artists rise to fame may have been similar (as they both were discovered on YouTube), the similarities quickly become fewer and farther between.

These differences and what makes Greyson so unique are the topic of a recent editorial by Elizabeth Soh of Singapore Showbiz at Yahoo Entertainment.  “Chance’s music is remarkably different from J Biebs’ hop-hop pop, coming off more like a hybrid of jazz singer Jamie Cullum’s pensive vocal style and Jason Mraz-esque folksy influences” says Soh.

No need for auto-tune, Greyson’s raw singing ability has carried him through his short career.  Through it all though Greyson has remained true to himself and his fans.  Greyson cares for his fans so much in fact that during a recent show his management bough pizza for hungry girls who were camping out for hours in long lines -a “gesture that blows Bieber’s ‘One Less Lonely Girl’ antics and diva behavior right out of the water”.

You can read the article in it’s entirety over at Yahoo Entertainment.

Greyson Chance Fans and Favorite Things

What do cell phones, a bullet, Harry Potter, Tic Tacs, dry sugary mango’s and photography all have in common? Well, they happen to be among Greyson Chance’s favorite things!

We told you earlier this month that Greyson partnered with Everloop to bring us some behind the scenes footage as well as run contests for the fans. In part 2 of the series (just released), Greyson not only reviews fan submissions from the first contest and picks a winner but he reveals some of his favorite things!

Our favorite part of the video is the beginning bloopers in the studio! “Sally sells sea shells by the sea shore!” “Unique New York, Unique New York, Unique New York!”

Greyson Chance Turns to Fans for Song Suggestions

Greyson Chance has been performing covers of songs since he was a young boy living in Edmond, Oklahoma.  He is turning to his fans though for suggestions on what songs he should cover next, during his Asia tour next month.

Greyson’s most notable cover to date, launching his music career, remains his famous rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” which he performed at Edmond’s sixth grade music festival.  Since posting that video on YouTube nearly two-years ago Greyson has covered a number of songs during his live concerts including Augustana’s “Fire”, Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind” and Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory”, just to name a few.

Today Greyson told his fans on Twitter (all 1,742,000 + of them) that he is working on his set list for the Asia tour and would like suggestions as to what songs he should cover during it.  You can help Greyson out by tweeting him suggestions, @GreysonChance.

(Example: “@GreysonChanceMe said you were looking for suggestions. @GreysonChance you should cover “That’s Life” by Frank Sinatra!”)

So what do you think Greyson should cover during his upcoming Asia tour?  Even if you live in another region, there is no doubt that these covers will be posted right here on Greyson’s fan site during the tour thanks to all his fans in Asia, so tweet away!

Here is a video which was actually posted to YouTube about one-year ago this month but in that time it has racked up over 54,000 views, and rightfully so… it’s amazing!

Greyson Chance J-14 Exclusive Q&A

Greyson Chance recently chatted it up with the J-14 crew about his new partnership with social networking site Everloop, his experience in the studio with Ariana Grande, and what we can expect from him in the way of new music!

The following interview is courtesy of J-14.  You can checkout the complete article here.

J-14: What made you want to be a part of Everloop?
Greyson Chance:
I’m super excited to get involved with Everloop. I love the program. It’s a great social network — even for kids younger than me. If you have a Facebook, you need a little more responsibility, but Everloop is a young social network that is great for kids. It’s really important for young people to feel safe online, and they can do that on Everloop.

J-14: Do you have any advice for teens who are battling bullies online?
Greyson:
The best advice is if you don’t like what you’re seeing online, then don’t get online. It’s not fun, but it’s what you kind of have to do in this world today.

J-14: We heard you have some new music on the way! Can you give us details?
Greyson:
There’s gonna be some new music coming soon, but I don’t want to give too many details quite yet! But I can tell you that it’s going to be a bit different from the last album.

J-14: You recently recorded a song with your good friend, Ariana Grande! What was that experience like?
Greyson:
Ariana is a blast and we always have a good time. That was a really fun recording session. We wrote a song completely from scratch, and it has a really vintage sound. We recorded it in the same room with two different mics, so it has a great sound.

J-14: Who else are you a fan of right now?
Greyson:
I’m a huge fan of Taylor Swift - it would be incredible to do a duet with her. And I love One Direction! I love their first single [„What Makes You Beautiful"].

Greyson Chance by the Beach

Greyson Chance was hard at work this past week but took time out today to relax by the beach.

In the mists of working on his next album, Greyson is also designing a brand new stage for his Asia tour.  Between that and keeping up with his study’s (school), it was nice to hear that Greyson had some time off this weekend to relax (or in his words “be lazy”).  After hitting the books today and catching up on some school work Greyson took a quick “field trip” and snapped us a picture of himself with the beach as his backdrop.  Check it out!

When was the last time you were at the beach?
