Greyson Chance Studio Version of Paparazzi, Listen!

Greyson Chance uploaded a video of himself singing Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” about eight months ago now.  Greyson’s version of “Paparazzi” turned out to be launching pad that ignited his music career and took it to a level he could never have dreamed.

Today marks the launch of not only Greyson’s music video for his first single, “Waiting Outside the Lines”, but also the release of two new studio-recorded cover songs.

One cover released today is Greyson’s version of Augustana’s “Fire” and the other is his famous rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi”.  We just finished listening to the new studio version and we must say that it’s superb.  Although we think the tempo was slowed down a bit, the sound quality is at a level it’s never been before (obviously because it’s a studio version), but it gives us the oppertunity to really tune in and hear Greyson to the fullest.

Greyson Chance Beatweek Magazine Interview

Greyson Chance recently met Bill Palmer of Beatweek Magazine and the two sat down for an interview to discuss Greyson’s new single, “Waiting Outside the Lines” among a wide variety of other topics.

The interview gets underway with Bill asking Greyson to tell us a little bit about Waiting Outside The Lines.  Greyson responds by saying, “It’s a very important song to me”.  He explains that the meaning of the song is that even if you have an emotional breakdown, it’s something that will help you get past hard times in your life.  Greyson wants his fans to be able to listen to the song when they’re feeling down and realize that things are going to get better.

Bill then asks Greyson if he writes his own songs.  Although Greyson does write most of his songs, he said that he did not write this one.  Greyson says that when he heard this song he thought it stayed true to what he believes in and he was really into the song when he first heard it.  Greyson’s said “This is a song that means so much to me, so I’m just really happy that today is the day.”

Bill pointed out in the interview that when Greyson was performing on The Ellen Show yesterday, mid performance he stepped away from the piano and went center stage where he just sang the vocals.  Greyson said that this is something we will see more of because to him it’s important that he shows a different side of what he can do.

About six months ago Greyson met Ellen for the first time and just now is Greyson’s first single being released.  Bill asked Greyson if he took his time making the single and if so, why?  According to Greyson there were a lot of different version of the song but didn’t want to rush the final product.  “We wanted to take our time with this one to make sure it was perfect” Greyson commented.

With Greyson’s fame skyrocketing in recent months, Bill asked Greyson if there are moments when he’s out and about and is recognized by people who interrupt him.  Greyson says that he can still go out to eat without too much trouble but finds it incredible when people approach him and ask to shake his hand. “I can still go out and go with my friends” he adds.

Moving on Bill asked Greyson what it’s been like dealing with “industry people” over the past few months and inquired about if they treat him differently because he’s a kid.  Greyson acknowledged that he does sometimes get treated like a kid but says that his team is always behind him and he’s backed by the best record label in the world (Interscope).  “Everyone is just so kind and so awesome” Greyson said.

Some other things Greyson talked about during the interview included the fact that John Lennon is a huge inspiration of his and sees him as one of the best writers ever to walk the earth.   Greyson also talks about what a great feeling it is to have industry “heavy weights” such as Perez Hilton and Lady Gaga showing support for him.  Also discussed was Greyson’s ant-bullying campaign; this is a subject near and dear to his heart because of all the lives being lost by it.  On a lighter note Greyson tell us about one of his favorite television shows, Glee and says that he would do anything to be on that show.

Greyson was also asked about his online presence, specifically on Twitter.  It was brought to Greyson’s attention by Bill that he has about 250,000 followers on Twitter (it’s actually over 290,000 now) and he’s following more than half of them back.  Greyson said that he knows how good it feels to be followed by somebody and if people are willing to follow him, he thinks he should do so as well.  Greyson also stated that he receives a ton of direct messages through Twitter and loves replying to his fans because “they’re incredible”.

Finishing things off Greyson tells us that a good amount of his full-length album is complete.  He also states that the album will be released sometime in early 2011.  Greyson also spills the beans on which recording studio he was last at in Los Angeles, Record Planet!

This was an awesome interview by Bill Palmer and Beatweek Magazine and we thank them for taking the time to provide us with all this great information!

Greyson Chance and Crew Rock the Studio!

Greyson Chance was in the studio this week and his team of singers, songwriters and producers were with him.  In a recent message to us, Greyson said that his new team is “insane” and together they are making songs which will soon be hits!

So who exactly has Greyson been working with in the studio?  Eric Bellinger is a Los Angeles born and bred singer-songwriter and the grandson of Jackson 5 hit maker, Bobby Day.  Eric has proven to be successful as a singer, songwriter, vocal producer and engineer and has been described as “an all-star talent who continually delivers through provoking lyrics with beautiful melodies.”

Da Internz featuring co-founder Enrique have been working with Greyson as well; they are a production team who has worked with stars like Yung Joc, Jesse McCartney and Mims.  To top the studio crew off, Aaron Michael Cox is a super talent who has a passion for music and is respected by many in the industry.

Today Aaron Cox told us that this will be his last day working with Greyson Chance in the studio, but his time with the teen-singer has been “extraordinary”.  Eric Bellinger also told us that Greyson is a “beast” and agreed with Aaron that he is an extraordinary singer.  Da Internz had their own opinions of Greyson too, he’s “brilliant” they told us.

Everyone involved has said that they are super-excited about what they’ve been able to accomplish so far and I for one can’t wait to hear the final product!
